From Fabric to Fit: Our Hands-On Approach
At Harv & Rose, we don't do “design by mood board.” We do design by trial, error, coffee stains, long walks, and far too many mirror checks.
We’re not fashion insiders. We’re not a hundred-year-old atelier in Milan (though we’d love their espresso machine). We’re just obsessed with creating clothes that feel good — not just on the rack, but on you. And that means doing things the long way. The slow way. The hands-on way.
Here’s how we build each piece - from fabric to fit, without cutting corners (just cloth).
Step One: Touch Everything
No, seriously. We touch everything.
We don’t just pick fabrics based on samples in a catalogue - we live with them. We wear them to meetings, on flights, while chasing cabs and catching our breath. If it creases too easily, clings in the wrong places, or makes you sweat like you’re in a high-stakes interview... it’s out.
Our fabrics are tested in real life - before they make it to yours.
Step Two: Fit Comes First. Always.
We’re mildly obsessed with fit. Okay, extremely. Because the difference between a good outfit and a great one? How it sits on you when you’re not sitting still.
Our trousers are Italian-cut for that clean, straight-lined silhouette. Our polos and round necks are shaped to skim - not squeeze. We obsess over sleeve lengths, shoulder seams, and that “just right” drape that makes you look taller, sharper, intentional.
You should never have to tug, adjust, or second-guess what you're wearing. That’s our job - not yours.
Step Three: Wear-Tested by Us (and Then Some)
Here’s the thing - we wear our own pieces. Everywhere.
Because we’re not designing for mannequins. We’re designing for Monday mornings, airport security, spontaneous dinners, and the occasional spilled drink.
If a fabric doesn’t hold up in real life, it doesn’t make the cut.
If a trouser needs constant ironing? It gets benched.
If the colour fades after two washes? It never made it past round one.
What you get is what we’d wear on repeat. Literally.
Why It Matters
We know - the fashion industry doesn’t always work like this.
Most labels don’t test their clothes on themselves. Many never revisit a design once it’s “approved.”
But we’re not here to mass-produce. We’re here to get it right.
Because when you put on a Harv & Rose piece, you’re not just wearing a garment. You’re wearing hours of testing, tweaking, finessing - and a little bit of stubborn perfectionism.
We Don’t Just Make Clothes. We Make Sure They’re Worth Wearing.
And honestly? That’s the fun part.
